Building on this work, FM Global is pleased to debut its newest tool for the fire service — The FM Global Fire Service Learning Network. This online learning network delivers critical training for the fire service in FM Global's focus areas, including fire protection in commercial and industrial properties. The network's training is free and available 24/7/365 on-demand.

The FM Global Fire Service Learning Network launched with four modules that are an updated version of its popular course, "Fighting Fire in Sprinklered Buildings." This course, revised and updated for 2018, is available online exclusively on the new learning network. The four self-paced online modules in the course cover the design and function of automatic sprinkler systems, why sprinklered buildings burn, developing a pre-incident plan for a protected property, and engine company operations at responses to sprinklered properties. More modules on additional topics are planned.

The FM Global Fire Service Learning Network offers the fire service the opportunity to take an optional test at the end of each module to earn a certificate of completion. The user can also earn a special Fighting Fire in Sprinklered Buildings certificate for successfully passing the Skills Challenge test after each of the four modules in that sequence. For each user, the Learning Network keeps a personalized transcript of the self-paced modules they complete. The user can download and print out their certificates and transcript to submit them to their department, agency, or company for continuing education credit. Finally, via the Learning Network, FM Global has made available a number of its well-respected resources, including its Data Sheets, pocket guides, and pre-incident planning materials guide.
